Lorri L. Wilbee-Kobe graduated from the UMKC School of Law in December of 2004.
While attending law school, Ms. Wilbee-Kobe served as the Secretary of the Public Interest Law Association and was published in the Matrimonial Law Journal. She served as a Rule 13 Attorney in the Child and Family Services Clinic establishing guardianships for children, worked as a research assistant to one of her professors and continued to work part-time as a family law paralegal throughout law school.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Wilbee-Kobe graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Missouri State University. Ms. Wilbee-Kobe has a Major in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Women’s Studies. Ms. Wilbee-Kobe received two Criminal Justice Department Academic Awards, the Criminal Justice Ten Most Wanted Award and the Robert I. Jaquith Law Scholarship as a student at CMSU in May of 2002.
Prior to attending CMSU, Ms. Wilbee-Kobe graduated from Blue River Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree. During her community college days, Ms. Wilbee-Kobe was an English tutor in the Academic Resources Center, was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and received the Outstanding Community College Transfer Scholarship.
Ms. Wilbee-Kobe began her career in the legal field as an entry-level legal secretary in 1989. She began working as a family law paralegal in 1997 and continued to do so until she passed the Missouri Bar in April of 2005. Since that time, Ms. Wilbee-Kobe has primarily practiced in the field of family law, representing clients in a vast array of family law cases, serving as a Guardian ad Litem for children and incapacitated adults, and mediating custody, parenting time, support and property issues.
Ms. Wilbee-Kobe is a former Girl Scout Leader, Eastern Jackson County Youth Court Volunteer and Alumni of the Independence Citizens Police Academy. During her undergraduate study, she completed an internship with the Oak Grove Police Department.
Ms. Wilbee-Kobe is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Eastern Jackson County Bar Association and Lafayette County Bar Association. She has been an active member of the Grain Valley Chamber of Commerce since 2008.
Ms. Wilbee-Kobe graduated from Grain Valley High School in 1986. She is married, has two grown children and one grandchild. She and her husband enjoy spending time with the family, fishing, floating and other outdoor activities.
